What is Keyseater Machine?

A keyseater machine is a type of metalworking machine used to create keyways or slots in a variety of materials, such as steel, aluminum, and other metals. A keyway is a slot or groove that is machined into a shaft or other part to accept a key or spline that provides a secure connection between the two parts.

The keyseater machine works by using a cutting tool, called a broach, to remove material from the workpiece in a precise manner to create the keyway. The broach is guided through the workpiece by a series of guides or bushings, which ensure the proper alignment and depth of the cut.

Keyseater machines come in different sizes and configurations, from small bench-top models to large industrial machines. Some machines are designed to cut only one type of keyway, while others are versatile and can produce a variety of keyway sizes and shapes. Keyseater machines are commonly used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing, where precision and accuracy are critical for safe and reliable operation.
