DMTG I-MOD500 – Year 2012

DMTG I-MOD500 – Year 2012
Condition: New – Open box

Axis Nomenclature
This machine is a 4-axis, CNC controlled, single head, Horizontal Milling Machining center, with a 15KW, 20HP spindle motor.

· X-axis: Traveling Column
· Y-axis: Saddle
· Z-axis: Table Slide
· B-axis: Rotary Table

Axis Travels
The total programmable axes travels in inch and metric dimensions are shown below:

· X-axis: 800 mm / 31.5 in
· Y-axis: 630 mm / 24.8 in
· Z-axis: 600 mm / 23.6 in
· B-axis: 360 Degree Continuous

Machine Capacity
The approximate working envelope is 500mm x 500mm x 500mm (HxWxL). Using NSK ballscrews and rails, the machine is capable of the following:

· Feedrates: 10,000 mm/min
· Traverse Rates: 54 M/min
· Acceleration: 0.5 g

External Scales
The Closed Loop operation of the machine is achieved using Heidenhain external scales. Transfer errors from the mechanics are detected by the linear and rotary encoders and corrected by the CNC resulting in a very accurate machine.

Table Description
With a capacity of holding a 600 kg workpiece and a clamping force of 35kg/cm2, this 500mm x 500mm rotary table allows the part to be positioned in any orientation for machining. In addition, the table is equipped with 8 ports to support a powered workholding fixture as outlined below:

· Hydraulic: 4 ports
· Pneumatic: 2 ports
· Lubrication: 1 port
· Coolant: 1 port

Spindle Capacity
The Setco 15 kw (20 hp.), 190 nm, 10,000 rpm spindle will deliver a minimum of 20HP using 2 motor windings as described below:

· Low: 0-6,000 rpm (1500 BSpd)
· High: 0-10,000 rpm (4000 BSpd)

Tool Changing System
System consists of a 24 pocket wine rack with tool changer, capable of changing tools in 1.8 seconds (tool to tool). System capacities are as follows:

· Max Diameter: 150 mm (5.9”)
· Max Length: 360 mm (14.2”)

Control System
The machine is currently controlled by a Fanuc 18i CNC. The Fanuc platform provides single control architecture for discrete I/O, drives, motion and process control systems. However, the machine can be retrofitted to the following:

· Siemens 840D CNC
· Fanuc 30i, 31i or 32i CNC

We have experience in a wide variety of control systems. If another solution is desired, IPS can quote upon request.

Optional Equipment
The existing machine has everything described above but can also be equipped with the following features:

· Tombstone Fixture
· Additional Rotary Axis (Turret)
· Standard Coolant System
· MQL Coolant System
