METRIC Heald (Cincinnati) 273A fully rebulit machine with highest care by grinding machine specialist (1350 assembly & painting hours). We have complete photographic album as machine dismantled and rebulit to last screw. Any part or assembly can be checked, machine throughly tested under power.

All nature elements are blacked, zinc or chrome plated (except ground or craped castins). Painted parts are sand blasted then either powder painted or painted with German top brand oilproof 2K paint in lovely cement gray colour, 7033.

The machine has solid hidrostatic sliding bearing in the bed on Z and X direction, therefore the sliding elements has almost zero friction and wear. Will be serving for many years to come.

Bedways are ground on Waldrich high precision bedway grinder the oppsite part is matched with ultra high precision, special hand scraping to 0,002mm straightness per travel.

The cross feed is equipped with a high precision thread ground shaft and individually fitted bronze nut, plus hydraulic back slash compensation to eliminate any play.

Centre height is lifted by factory, so 800mm swing is achievable, instead of the original 500mm. Large 908 TIMKEN taper roller barings, 2.2Kw work spindle and 4Kw grinding spindle motors serve the higher power requitements.

Mechanically the machine is rebuilt to the original state, but electric unit is completly replaced with new, very easy to control design and CE parts except hydraulic and grindig motors. The two main motors driven by 4Kw frequency inverters. Continously adjustable from 0-normal maximum-double speed where motor is capable duble RPM (0-50-100Hz). This speed is approximately 0-500RPM of the work spindle and 0-2980 on the main motor further increased speed by belt drive to the required grinding spindle speed.

X travel on fine feed: 40mm approx.

OD of grinding spindle for medium bore grinding: 3.75″ or spindle housing reborable to 100mm (prepared for). For face grinding there is an offset large capacity, offset assembled grinding spindle as an option.

Parallelism of ways: maximum deviation is nominal 0,005mm/travel (approx 0,003 measured).
