AXA VPC 45 DASK CNC 5-Axis Gantry Machining Center – Year 2013

Machine number 87406
Travel paths X – 2,800 mm / Y – 1,600 mm / Z – 1,100 mm
A-axis ± 110° / C-axis ± 360°
Spindle hours approx. 16,524 h (as of 10.07.25)

New milling spindle installed on 24.08.2022

The double-axis swivel head, equipped with a 2-axis swivel head, is specifically designed to meet the requirements of highly dynamic simultaneous 5-axis machining.

The swivel axes are continuously positionable or freely interpolating, allowing them to be adjusted during machining operations, The entire head swivels around the Z-axis (C-axis) with a swivel range of ±360°, while the spindle within the fork can swivel around the X-axis (A-axis) within a range of ±110°.

A portal height extension largely compensates for the design-related loss in height between vertical and horizontal spindle positions due to the fork head construction. The guideways and drives in this configuration are engineered for maximum acceleration and traverse speeds.

The use of the double-axis swivel head makes the VPC DASK an ideal machining center for tool and mold making as well as general mechanical engineering.

The spindle features an HSK-A63 interface, with a speed range of 30–18,000 rpm, a power output of 43 kW, and internal cooling through the spindle at 20 bar. The tool changer is equipped with 36 positions. A full enclosure, Visiport window are included, along with a spindle cooling unit, and chip conveyor.
