Machining Centre for Aluminum and Light Alloy Profiles

The +QUADRA machining centre is a highly advanced system featuring up to 20 CNC-controlled axes, specifically engineered to perform cutting, milling, drilling, and head–tail machining on aluminum and light alloy profiles. It is designed to meet the diverse requirements of the window and door, architectural, and industrial sectors. +QUADRA is a fully configurable and modular production line, offering a wide range of optional packages and customized solutions to suit the most common and demanding applications. The machine structure incorporates an automatic loading magazine, from which profiles are picked up and transferred to the machining area. After processing, a dedicated extraction system deposits the finished parts onto an unloading and accumulation magazine. The line is built around three main modular units, each available in multiple configurations to adapt the system’s flexibility, automation level, and productivity. The loading magazine, designed for profiles up to 7,500 mm or 9,500 mm, works in combination with a push-feeding system and an automatic positioning gripper that clamps, aligns, and transfers the profile into the operating unit. The positioning of the next bar in the loading area is synchronized with the return movement of the transport gripper, occurring in masked time to maximize productivity. The FLW high-flexibility version further optimizes profile loading by utilizing the entire working surface of the bench, significantly increasing load capacity. This version is combined with the PROFIX dynamic counterblock system, which ensures accurate reference positioning and correct profile orientation during subsequent machining operations.

Machining and Cutting Units

The machining unit includes a 4-axis NC milling module equipped with 4 to 8 electrospindles mounted on a rotary base, enabling complete machining of all profile faces regardless of orientation. For cutting operations, two cutting units are available:
  • Ø 600 mm blade with down-stroking movement on three CNC axes
  • Ø 350 mm blade with horizontal movement on three CNC axes
Both cutting units can be installed simultaneously, offering maximum operational versatility. Configuration options are further enhanced by an end-milling module operating on two CNC axes by means of a milling unit, or alternatively by a 4-axis milling module specifically designed for head and tail machining of the workpiece.

Protection, Extraction and Unloading

All machining units are enclosed within a fully protected soundproof cabin, ensuring excellent noise reduction and complete operator safety. The AES adaptive extraction system automatically removes the machined segments from the cutting area and transfers them to the unloading magazine. The unloading system consists of a transversal belt magazine and is available in multiple widths, supporting profile lengths of up to 4,000 mm or 7,500 mm. The accumulation magazine can also be supplied in the HCS high-capacity configuration, allowing storage of the entire volume of profiles loaded in the feeding magazine without requiring operator intervention.

Optional Equipment and Automation

The machining centre can be further equipped with an ALM automatic labelling module with positioner, enabling precise identification of machined parts, as well as a tool integrity control system. These optional devices, combined with large-capacity tool and material storage systems and the proven reliability of Emmegi technology, allow the +QUADRA machining centre to operate efficiently over extended, fully automated production cycles.
