The machine is equipped with the Mazatrol Matrix Nexus CNC control. Please note that the control currently requires repair. Once repaired, the machine offers the full functionality of Mazak’s advanced conversational programming and high-speed machining capabilities.

The machining area provides travels of 730 mm (28.74″) on both the X and Y axes and 740 mm (29.13″) on the Z-axis. A 500 × 500 mm (19.69″ × 19.69″) pallet supports a wide variety of workpieces while the integrated 1-degree indexing rotary pallet allows accurate multi-face machining.

The spindle is driven by a powerful 40 HP (29.8 kW) motor and reaches speeds up to 12,000 RPM. The CAT 40 spindle taper provides compatibility with a broad range of cutting tools, while the large-capacity 120-position automatic tool changer minimizes downtime during complex machining cycles.

One of the machine’s major advantages is the integrated Mazak 8-Pallet Palletech automation system with two load stations, allowing continuous unattended production and significantly increasing spindle utilization. The machine is also equipped with a Superflow high-pressure coolant pump to improve chip evacuation, enhance tool life, and optimize machining performance during deep-hole drilling and heavy cutting applications.

With an operating weight of approximately 11,340 kg (25,000 lbs), the MAZAK NEXUS HCN-5000 II provides excellent rigidity, thermal stability, and machining accuracy.
