Multisaws are machines used in the wood industry mainly for cutting prisms, but not only. Machines of this type can cut boards into smaller elements and cut lamellas. The principle of their operation is very simple, the machine has a spindle located in the central point, in the horizontal axis, on which tools in the form of discs are mounted.

Depending on the purpose, weilopsaws can have one or two spindles. In the latter case, the device has greater cutting capabilities, mainly comparing the thickness of the material. An additional advantage of machines with two rollers is obtaining a smaller kerf. The next main division of machines is the method of material feed.

They can be divided into shaft feed and crawler feed. When cutting the saw with shaft feed, the material is moved through the upper and lower shafts, depending on the construction, they can be driven all or only the lower ones. In turn, devices with a caterpillar move the wood with it, and the rollers placed in the body press the material against it.

The selection of the right machine depends primarily on the intended use. It should be considered whether only elements for pallets or boards made of expensive exotic wood will be cut. All of these can influence the choice of machine.
