SODICK AG40L die-sinking EDM was built in 2011. This highly efficient machine is used for precision electrical discharge machining of workpieces with a maximum weight of 550 kg, enabling complex shapes to be achieved in even the hardest materials. Furthermore, workpieces machined in this way do not require other secondary processes to be undertaken, such as polishing. The installed CNC control has a useful “perfect active control” function for simultaneous control of high-speed electrical discharges and axis movements, using 1 Gbit/s serial communication technology. The SODICK AG40L LN2 sinker EDM is offered with extensive equipment, consisting of, among others, an EROWA measuring probe, a 4-position linear tool changer and tooling. The total weight of the machine is 3900 kg.
